Addison Vodka on the set of In the Bag
Detective DeSoto, a yellow muscle car and a real-life friendship give Addison Vodka’s retro comedy role its particular character.
Two detectives and a troubled case
The film casts Addison as DeSoto and Elly Clutch as Davis, detectives investigating the murder of a Hollywood actress. The story uses the pair’s mistakes and unruly working methods as the basis for a buddy-cop comedy.
Greenwood described the tone through the influence of offbeat crime comedies rather than a direct spoof. Addison said she watched the 2004 Starsky & Hutch film while preparing, and described comedy as new territory she enjoyed exploring.
Friendship in front of the camera
Addison and Elly were already close friends before the production. Their accounts describe bringing that existing ease into the characters’ exchanges, while Greenwood said the relationship was part of what made the casting appealing.
The ensemble also included Willow Ryder, Isiah Maxwell and Scott Nails. The film therefore placed their central partnership inside a broader cast, with the detective story moving between witnesses, suspects and the surrounding Hollywood world.
Denim, vintage cars and a retro set
The on-set report puts Addison behind the wheel of a yellow 1970 Dodge Challenger RT. Her costume combined denim with a detective badge, while the wider production used vintage cars and styling associated with the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Locations included a police station, a motel, a mansion and a retro studio setting. Production manager Claudia Ross helped coordinate the work around those spaces. The result was an acting assignment shaped by wardrobe, vehicles, locations and crew organization as well as the performances.
